Sci-Fi Books I Love

Hi guys, this post is coming a bit late due to internet problems…but let’s dive in!

The theme for this month is back to school, and the book we’re all reading is Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. If you are new here, this meme is hosted at Goodreads by Jillian, Larkin and Britt, and it’s where we post discussion topics every Friday, for a final review of the month’s book on the last Friday of the month. You can find the group here.

This weeks topic is:

“I Love Science: My Favorite Science Fiction Books- This can be anything you want. Science fiction can be anything from time travel to DNA mutations like X-Men. You can go with comic books or novels. Whatever you feel like writing about.”

Now, I’m a little ashamed to say this, but, I haven’t actually read that much YA science fiction books which is a bit ironic, because I am a sci-fi fan (any trekkies out there?)…..unless you count those on Wattpad, which I did read several, and they were pretty good. I actually only came back to actual published books this year, as all I had been reading is wattpad previously… But yeah, I’m just going to talk about those books, because honestly, you guys should go check them out (especially if you like sci-fi) and they are totally free to read!

Now onto my favourite sci-fi books!Image result for illuminae

I have recently however read Illuminae, by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, and that was amazing! It’s definitely a favourite, so it’s only fair that it goeson this list. I’ll be posting a review soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Wattpad Books:

Regona City: The Creed (BK1)This book, Regona City: the Creed, is about a girl that is transported to this futuristic world. It’s a series of 3 books, and one extra side story that is currently being written. I loved the series, and I wish it was a published book, because I would totally buy it.

Here’s the link:

The Runner (Part I of the Runner Series)

This book is called the Runner, and it’s about this girl that lives in an unfair backwards futuristic world (like it’s so bad that technology has backtracked) that is on the verge of a revolution. It’s also a trilogy, and the last book is currently in progress. This is almost sci-fi, because honestly, it fits more an action genre, but it technically is in the future, so I’m gonna add it to this list. It also provides images that help you imagine the setting. This series is also amazing..

Evolution (Book 1 of POE chronicles)This is also a trilogy (I like trilogies if you are wondering…) set in a post apocalyptic world, where some humans have gone through genetic mutations and now have powers.. Not only that, but the mutations have gone into animals, and humans aren’t the only intelligent species on the planet. This series is action packed, and the author is currently working on a prequel series as well. Oops, forgot to mention the title: the POE Chronicles: Evolution.

This, is actually a standalone, called Superior. It’s about a girl that lives in a futuristic society in which popularity is everything, and where there is another breed of human: the Superiors – practically flawless in every way… or are they? It’s very interesting, and written really well.

This book The Gauntletis called the Gauntlet, which is a tournament set in the 3000s. A deliquent student is brought to a training academy that trains champions for the tournament. Only, it’s not the best training academy around. This is not a copy of the hunger games, and is quite different. It’s action packed and I flew through this in like a day. The author is working on a second book, but it’s rarely updated. This however, can be read as a standalone.

The Numbered

Lastly, this is called the Numbered, which is about this futuristic society where you are classed according to your score of perfection. If your score is above eighty, you have a comfortable life if not, well you’re stuffed. The main character is about a girl whose score is under 80, finds that she was scored incorrectly. It’s still in progress, but it’s a very interesting and unique book that you guys should check out.

So there you have it! My favourtite sci-fi books. The good thing is, these are completely free, and if you want to read them, you just need to sign up for a wattpad account. If you want to know, mine is:

I know this is a bit different, but I am on a mission to read more YA sci-fi books! I see you Cinder…

Until next time…
